All aRoundnet - SPONC!

Promoted by CUSI within the SPONC project! Non-Conventional Sport for All.
Funded by the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, 2022.
OBJECTIVE
All aRoundnet is a CUS Padova project to promote sports practice as an educational activity for socialization and integration , aimed primarily at inactive young people in order to combat sedentary lifestyle and the abandonment of sports activity.
The project promotes in particular ROUNDNET , an unconventional sport with a high innovative and educational content and high accessibility for the identified target audiences.
THE ROUNDNET
Roundnet is a dynamic, intuitive and fun game, suitable for everyone regardless of age, gender or physical ability. Two people form a team and try to hit the ball onto the trampoline, making sure that the opposing duo is unable to hit it back.
The principles of the game are:
Spirit of the game and fair play . The game is self-refereed: all players are responsible for conducting the game and respecting the rules.
Respect for the rules . A prerequisite for self-refereeing is that all players know the rules perfectly and respect them, creating a positive and self-organizing climate.
Inclusion . Everyone can play Roundnet, because it is not just about physical ability, but also about creativity and lots of fun.
The activities took place mainly outdoors, both at the university sports facilities to introduce young people to the CUS facilities, and in various open spaces in the city of Padua, particularly in the areas most frequented by students.

Sports activities in high schools in Padua
6 participating schools allowed us to reach a thousand students in just 3 months of activity and to involve 35 physical education teachers. We also dedicated a day to raising awareness among physical education teachers about the educational potential of this game.

Adapted activity aimed at people with disabilities
Thanks to the collaboration of Il Graticolato di San Giorgio delle Pertiche and Down DADI di Padova we involved 10 young people with intellectual disabilities in an adapted Roundnet course, because we believe that this game can bring them great benefits on a physical and mental level.

Course for university students
By exploiting the unifying power of this discipline and the originality of our sports proposal, we have intercepted the interest of many university students, including inactive ones who do not practice sports regularly. Furthermore, Roundnet is a sports proposal that is already very successful abroad, many foreign students have seized the opportunity to continue practicing this sport here too.
35 university students joined the initiative, including 10 foreigners.

Inclusive Tournament
At the end of the project, we organized tournaments for all course participants.
A tournament dedicated to university students and the 1st Roundnet inclusive inter-school tournament which saw high school students and children with disabilities play together.
